Provincial Constable Lynda Cranney commends Oxtongue’s Cottage Watch Program
On January 3, 2012, Gisele Gunderman, Oxtongue Lake’s Cottage Watch Co-ordinator, received the following email from Provincial Constable Lynda Cranney, the Huntsville Detachment CSO/Media Relations Officer:
As I read through all the break and enters reported the last five days, your community comes up unscathed. I can accredit this mostly to your Cottage Watch Program — congratulations!
A hearty THANK-YOU to Gisele and to all the Cottage Watch Road Coordinators who patrol our community with vigilance and dedication; and to Constable Cranney who keeps in frequent touch with the program here in Oxtongue.
While you’re on this page, why not take a few minutes to refresh your knowledge of how Cottage Watch works by browsing through the Cottage Watch manual? This is a true team effort — and with all of us watching and taking note of any unusual cars, snowmobilers, strangers, or activity in the community, we go a long way to keeping crime out of Oxtongue. With our continued vigilance, anyone with bad intentions trying to infiltrate the community will be noticed.

LAUNCHING THE COTTAGE WATCH PROGRAM IN OXTONGUE
OCTOBER 2010
At the Community Centre on Saturday, October 9, Oxtongue’s Cottage Watch Coordinator, Gisele Gunderman, led an information meeting and officially launched the Cottage Watch Program in Oxtongue Lake. The meeting featured Constable Lynda Cranney of the OPP, who offered a slide presentation and answered questions from the 50+ people from Oxtongue who attended. The one-hour meeting was recorded, and that recording was divided into four roughly equal Segments of 12-15 minutes in duration, each of which is linked below.
Upon clicking on one of the links below, a new window will open, a playback console will appear, and the audio file automatically will (should!) begin playback in five seconds. Click on the <Pause Button> (or press down the spacebar) if you wish to pause playback; then click on the <Play Arrow> (or press down the spacebar again) to resume playback.
Overall, the sound quality is good, though there are sections that are a bit muffled.
