For those cottages with an upright paddle\, you can stop and visit and do a challenge that the cottage may have in store for the boat’s participants. For 2025\, at 4:15pm on the lake near Gent’s island\, come and get your boat judged. Prizes will be awarded at the dance. \nPrizes! \nAll kids will get a participation prize! \nSpirit Award: decorate your boat\, have a team costume or some other creative aspect! After the resounding success in 2023\, the OLA is organizing an all-ages Community Dance & Social which will take place at the Oxtongue Lake Community Centre on Saturday\, August 2nd\, from 7:30pm – 12:30am. This outdoor event will provide an opportunity for community members to meet and engage with neighbours from every bay on the lake\, and will include a DJ\, a dance floor\, and a cash bar with refreshments (beer\, wine\, soft drinks) and light snacks. Additionally\, we’ll be providing a complimentary bus service around the lake to help everyone get to and from the dance safely. More details to follow in the coming weeks. \nAll are welcome\, from house guests to resort guests; however\, in order to get a better gauge on the level of interest\, and so we can plan accordingly with sufficient food/drinks\, we’re requesting that you purchase your tickets for the Community Dance & Social in advance. It will also help speed things up upon arrival. \nTickets can be purchased in person at the event using cash or credit cards (online purchasing is now closed). \n* Note: All Adult ticket holders (with proof of age verified at the event) will receive one included drink ticket\, which can be redeemed for either: 1 beer\, 1 glass of wine\, or 2 soft drinks upon check-in at the event. Bracelets will be provided to all Adult ticket holders and will be required for the purchase of alcohol. \n \n \n \n \n \n \nBus Schedule Our goals were to be convenient\, efficient\, predictable and flexible. We hope to stay as close as possible to this schedule for the evening. We don’t want it getting stuck turning around\, making the loop much longer and less predictable for everyone. \nTickets\, Food & DrinkFor advanced ticket purchasers\, someone will be on the first few bus loops to check your name on the list\, verify your ID\, and give you a bracelet and drink tickets. All others will need to do upon arrival at the community centre. Online ticket sales will close on Saturday at 5pm. We encourage everyone to buy online ahead of time. \nCash and Credit Cards are accepted for all tickets\, food and drink. \nDrink Tickets are $5 for one glass of wine or beer or 2 non-alcoholic drinks.
