DESCRIPTION:Jim & Sue Waddington – come and hear Jim and Sue talk about their adventures locating and photographing the actual landscapes that inspired and influenced the brushes of the Group of Seven. \nJim and Sue Waddington began their voyage of discovery in July 1977.  Determined to locate\, document and photography the actual landscapes that inspired and influenced the brushes of A.Y. Jackson\, Franklin Carmichael\, Arthur Lismer\, Lawren Harris\, A.J. Casson\, J.E.H MacDonald\, Tom Thomson and Frederick Varley\, the Waddinton’s embarked on a 36 year expedition that saw them trek from one end of the country to the other.  The result is “In the Footsteps of the Group of Seven”\, an ambitious book travelling along ancient canoe routes to visit the sites. \n“An Evening With… Summer Series” at the Oxtongue Lake Community Centre  \nEvery other Wednesday from July 5 to August 30\, 2017 starting at 7 p.m. Come out to hear a special guest speaker from the area talking about wildlife\, local history\, their travels and a myriad of interesting topics. Admission is by donation. Refreshments provided. Hosted by the Oxtongue Lake Community Centre Committee & friends. All proceeds to Community Centre betterment.

SUMMARY:Gray Jays with Dan Strickland
DESCRIPTION:Dan Strickland – has been studying Grey Jays since 1967.  He obtained a Masters of Science degree from the University of Montreal where his research focused on Grey Jays in Parc de la Verendrye in southwestern Quebec.  From 1970-2000\, Dan was the Chief Park Naturalist in Algonquin Provincial Park.  retirement has allowed him to spend more time on the Park Grey Jay study\, now one of the world’s longest-running investigations of a population of colour-banded birds. \n  \n“An Evening With… Summer Series” at the Oxtongue Lake Community Centre  \nEvery other Wednesday from July 5 to August 30\, 2017 starting at 7 p.m. Come out to hear a special guest speaker from the area talking about wildlife\, local history\, their travels and a myriad of interesting topics.
