Oxtongue River Rapids and Trail

Located 2km east of the intersection of Hwy 35 and Hwy 60.  Turn right and follow the paved road 1km, where it narrows to a gravel road and continues another 2km to the monument.

This is a beautiful spot to relax and enjoy a picnic and walk a short 1km trail one way (2km round trip).   It’s particularly beautiful with the fall colours and many a photographer and artist will return.  The trail follows the shore of a fast moving river with rocky slopes to the river’s edge so parents must keep small children close at all times.  From the monument travel west along the trail to the left of the road you arrived on.
